![]() America in Prophecy: Daniel 8:5-8A Goat Stomps a Ram, Symbol of Islam, Al-Adha
God says there is none like
Him, declaring the end from the beginning. In Genesis 22, God shows the
end of militant Islam when
Isaac was saved from sacrifice by a ram caught by its horns in a
bush. The Quran says Ishmael
was spared by sacrificing the ram. Which is right?
When Christ was asked about
the end of the world in Matthew 24, he recommended we understand a
desolating power first mentioned in Daniel 8. Here is a prophecy that
reaches from the time of Daniel to the present and includes a ram that
gets stomped and its horns are broken by a goat. Daniel 8:20,21 tells us
the horns on the ram are the kings of Media and Persia and they are
broken by the first king of Grecia (Alexander the Great).
But Gabriel said the vision
is “at the time of the end,” (verse 17) so what we’re looking at is a
double application of prophecy—once in history, and again for our time
when the Medes and Persians have become Iraq and Iran. If we read
closely, several items fit better now:
U.S. coalition v Iraq and Iran is Bible prophecy
Daniel implies an end-time
destruction of Jerusalem. Twice before it happened on the 10th
of Av. Protestant publisher, Jack Chick, has taken a lot of heat for "The Godfathers" and "Alberto" (story of a converted Jesuit priest who paid the ultimate price for his expose's. You can read his "Godfathers" online at http://www.chick.com/catalog/comics/0114.asp

Daniel has an historical and an
end-time application in chapters 1-9. Daniel 9:25 includes
“the going forth of
the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem.” This implies an
impending calamity--
“Behold, the day of the LORD comes, and
your spoil shall be divided in the midst of you. "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken and the houses rifled and the women ravished; and half the city shall go forth into captivity...
"Then shall the LORD
go forth and fight against those nations, as he fought in the day of
battle."
Zechariah 14:1-3.
Twice in history the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed on the 10th
day of the 5th month —Solomon’s Temple (Jeremiah 52:12) and
Herod’s Temple in 70 AD as chronicled by Josephus in
Wars of the Jews.
Both of those times meant the end of an era.
To
understand this, let’s look at context of Daniel’s prophecy. It says,
“70 weeks [of years] are determined upon your people…from the going
forth of the decree to restore and build Jerusalem,” Daniel 9:24,25.
The decree to restore and build Jerusalem let exiles leave Persia and
return at the beginning of a prophetic period.
A
similar situation seems to be impending as we are at the end of the
prophetic period that we saw the chapter, “The Time is Fulfilled.”
We should be ready, like the wise
virgins with lights, to share what we know if something huge happens.
Why not “watch and pray” as Christ
said, on the eve of the 10th day, 5th month. When
is that?
In Bible times, the year didn’t begin
in mid-winter as it does with the Roman calendar. The year began with
the first new moon after the spring equinox.
The new moon is the thin crescent
seen in the western sky just after sunset after no moon has been visible
for one or two nights. That night and the next day is the first day of
the month.
Why not watch for the thin crescent
on the evening of July 31. Seeing it after sunset means August 1 is the
first day of the month that’s beginning, because “the evening and the
morning” constitute a day, as we see from Genesis 1:5,8,13.
Grecia is named in Daniel 8:21, but Grecia was “the west.” Its
government was more democratic, and its education emphasized the
mind and reason more than manual skills and apprenticeship. So we are
like Grecia.
Grecia wasn't just the country of Greece as it is today. Some troops
from Bosnia (part of ancient Grecia) went to Iraq in 2003. So yes, the
goat could be said to come from Grecia, Ancient Grecia also included
Cyprus where U.S. ships were stationed that participated in the war with
Iraq.
Animals fight with horns.
The breaking of the ram’s
horns suggests the end of militancy by the ram (Islam). Islam
understandably hates us as a great Satan for the tobacco,
alcohol,
drugs, rock music,
immodest dress and immoral
movies. In Scripture, the ram is more noble than a goat, but it is
sacrificed to save Isaac (Israel).
Further support for this is also found in the Bible.
The ram was caught by its
horns (militancy) in a bush. President Bush fulfilled this imagery. This
is not saying that the war is good, but it is taking care of a "pushy"
ram (militant Islam).
Islam sacrifices a ram to celebrate this in Al-Adha, the Feast of
Sacrifice, but the Quran, Surat, Al-Saffat (37: 99-111), teaches
that the son spared by the ram was Ishmael. The Bible says it was
Isaac.
Which is the true Holy
Book? Events in the Middle East will show if Isaac (Israel) is spared by
sacrificing a ram (Islam) or if Ishmael was the son spared by a
sacrifice of a ram (Isaac?)
"The day of the LORD comes,
and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather
all nations [Arab nations?] against Jerusalem to battle; and the city
shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished...Then
shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations." Zech 14:1-3
But
God’s foreknowledge of military victory is not a statement about the
rightness of the US. The ram is a more noble creature than a goat and
Christ will separate sheep from goats as shown in Matthew 25:33. We
should understand Islam’s (ram) concern that the US has been much like
the “great Satan.” Have we not brought tobacco, alcohol, drugs,
Hollywood’s immorality, perversion and rock music to pollute their land
and their younger generation?
After a military victory,
the US’ “horn” gets broken, Daniel 8:8. Please consider further

![]() The Fall of America: Revelation 13:11-15
Early Americans fled the Old World
and generally
believed that the first beast (political cartoon) in
Revelation 13 was the papacy as it had assimilated
all the characteristics of previous kingdoms in Daniel
7 where there was a lion, bear, leopard and dreadful
beast with 10 horns. The first beast in Revelation 13
had a mouth like a lion, feet like a bear; it looked
like a leopard and had the total of seven heads and
ten horns from Daniel 7.
Those beasts represented succeeding kingdoms
of
Babylon, Medo-Persia, Grecia and Rome.
As the Roman Empire fell, 10 tribes roamed Europe, represented by
the 10 horns that grew out of the 4th beast. Then a “little horn”
emerged to uproot three horns. It spoke great
(blasphemous) words, changed times and laws and
persecuted the saints shown in Daniel 7. Pioneers believed the papacy survived the Dark Ages of oppression as an amalgamation of those other beasts, but it had a “deadly wound” which they believed was the Protestant Reformation. John saw this deadly wound heal and “all the world wondered after the beast…” Revelation 13:3. Every living president of the US bowed before the casket of a dead pope.
America in prophecy is
represented by the second beast in Revelation 13:11-15. It has two horns like a lamb,
but no crowns as on the
previous beast. This suggests a government without
a king and a church without a pope—Protestant
America.
The US beast causes fire
to come
down from the
sky (Hiroshima) and "it spake as a dragon." Rev 13:11. It makes an image (look-alike) of
the previous (papal) Old World Order.
New World Order is the image beast
that has its
headquarters in the
United Nations
building:

and
http://www.remnantofgod.org/nl0606.htm The image beast (UN--New World Order) "causes as many as would not worship [pay homage to] the image beast should be killed," and he causes everyone to be marked, Revelation 13:15-17 We are only a short way from seeing this happen. America is already speaking like a dragon in recent Executive Orders. Soon, the most solemn warning in the Bible will apply...
“If any man
worship the beast and his
image, and
receive his mark
in his forehead or in his hand, the
same shall drink of the wine of
the wrath of God…and he shall be tormented with fire…Revelation 14:9,10. God is not taken by surprise, and He has provided for this worldwide emergency. You can read an explanation of this and the richest promise in the Bible...
An Interesting Catholic Statement
“When the time comes and men realize that the social edifice must be rebuilt according to eternal standards, be it tomorrow, or be it centuries from now, the Catholics will arrange things to suit said standards.
Undeterred by those who
prefer to abide in death, they will re-establish certain laws of
life. They will restore Jesus to His place on high, and He shall no
longer be insulted. They will raise their children to know God and
to honor their parents. They will uphold the indissolubility of
marriage, and if this fails to meet with approval of the dissenters,
it will not fail to meet with the approval of their children.
They will make obligatory the religious observance of Sunday on
behalf of the whole of society and for its own good, revoking the
permit for freethinkers and Jews to celebrate incognito, Monday or
Saturday on their own account. Those whom this may annoy, will have
to put up with the annoyance. Respect will not be refused to the
Creator nor repose denied to the creature simply for the sake of
humoring certain maniacs, whose frenetic condition causes them
stupidly and insolently to block the will of a whole people.”
